Hilary Duff Plastic Surgery

American actress and singer-songwriter Hilary Duff, best known for the title role of Disney Channel's teen comedy "Lizzie McGuire," is rumored to have had plastic surgery to maintain her youthful image, which made her famous.

Duff, 25, is estimated to have had a nose job, breast implants, lip injections, cheek or chin implants and cosmetic dentistry (veneers).

Judging by the before and after photos, Duff's old nose was bulbous and full with nostril flare galore, resulting in a younger and fluffier looking face while now her nose is slimmed down, giving her a more refined and elegant look.

Some celebrity watchers claim that Hilary got chin implants, because her whole lower face (chin and jawline) is totally different than what it was as it is much more sculpted now than before.

Duff's lips are larger and fuller than they used to be, an obvious indication of lip injections via fillers like Juvederm or Restylane. Although a little filler can help enhance the look of her lips, she seems she had a little too much injected, resulting in an unnatural appearance wherein her upper lip may actually be larger than her bottom lipBut once the swelling and fillers starts to dissipate, Hilary's lips should return to normal.

According to reports, Hilary had her teeth redone after a mishap on stage with her microphone caused some chipping of her front tooth. So, she decided in 2005 to get veneers. Sadly, she got large and fake looking veneers. Needless to say that she later added fish lips and things got worse as many gossip websites made fun of her, claiming that she looked like a horse

Hilary's breasts are larger and rounder than before as they seem they grew by a full cup size.

Some people expressed concern that Duff had breast implants during pregnancy (as it is possible that the procedure can cause the inability to breast feed your child.) According to babycenter.com:

"Incisions made under the fold of the breast or through the armpit shouldn't cause any trouble. The most popular method, making a "smile" incision around the areola, puts you at greater risk for problems. If the nerves around the areola were not cut or damaged during surgery, you may be able to nurse fully or partially. Nerves are vital to breastfeeding because they trigger the brain to release prolactin and oxytocin, two hormones that affect milk production. Your chances of breastfeeding also improve if your milk duct system is intact. But, you won't know the full extent of nerve damage - if any - until you try to nurse."

On the other hand, it is unclear if filler injections will have an impact on an unborn child, but there very well could be an affect on your baby. According to Dallas plastic surgeon, D.J. Verret, MD:

"The safety of fillers in pregnancy has not been established through rigorous scientific testing. Given the nature of the procedures and the injectables, it is probably safe but no one knows for sure. As a caution, I advise patients not to undergo injections if they are pregnant or thinking of getting pregnant. Any possible risk is too great given that these injections are done for cosmetic reasons."

We should keep in mind though that all changes in Hilary Duff's appearance may be natural as a normal result of growing up. Also, factors such as shooting a photo from a different light and angle can play a significant role in someone's image.

We should also take into account that Duff's breasts may look seemingly bigger thanks to a very complimentary push-up bra (or bra tape or chicken cutlets) for achieving this boob lift effect.

When Hilary Duff was asked to state her opinion on plastic surgery, she has denied having any work done. However, she has explained that in her opinion, there's nothing wrong about getting plastic surgery as long as it makes a person feel happier about themselves.

Hilary was quoted as saying: "I don't have anything against people who have surgery. If I get older and feel uncomfortable about something then maybe (I will have it). I never say never. Some things are hard to deal with for a woman as you grow older. I think everyone should be able to feel good about themselves. I don't like it when it's really obvious and gets pointed out. Some people go overboard."

Celebrity plastic surgeon Anthony Youn explained: "It is definitely possible she may have had a breast augmentation. The edges of her breast look very defined, which can be a sign of breast implants. If they are implants, they are not too big and tastefully done."

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer claimed: "Hilary seems to be suffering from a case of denial. She's had work done on her nose, breasts, and looks like some dental veneers too."

What do you think? Did Hilary Duff have plastic surgery?
