Lady Gaga Flying Dress (PHOTOS - VIDEO)

Lady Gaga unveiled the world's first flying dress "Volantis".

The battery-powered dress has six booms in a hex formation.

On Sunday, "Volantis" rose to about 70 inches, "but we're still testing it," was quoted as saying designer Nancy Tilbury, creative director of London-based Studio XO that worked with engineers and Lady Gaga on the creation.

"It's feminine technology, there's a certain elegance to it," Tilbury revealed to The Associated Press.

At a launch party for her new album "ARTPOP" at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Gaga, 27, flew the contraption across a stage and then claimed that it was "a small step for Volantis," but "a big-time step" for her.

Gaga explained to the crowd at her party: "I wanted to make today about something even more important to me, and that something is the youth of the world…Their minds are just so boundless. They're just so inspiring."

Gaga noted that despite the fact "Volantis" is just "a vehicle," according to her the dress is "essentially a metaphor for me. I will be a vehicle today for their voices."
