Will Smith On James Avery's Death: "Every Young Man Needs An Uncle Phil"

Will Smith has opened up about the loss of James Avery, who portrayed his "Uncle Phil" on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."


On Facebook, Smith, 45, wrote: "Some of my greatest lessons in Acting, Living and being a respectable human being came through James Avery. Every young man needs an Uncle Phil. Rest in Peace."

Smith also shared a snapshot from the "last time we were together" (above).
