Hugh Grant Drops Out Of New "Bridget Jones" Movie

According to several reports, Hugh Grant has left the third "Bridget Jones" film.

In a new interview with Free Radio, Grant, 54, was quoted as saying: "I decided not to do it," noting: "But I think they're going to go ahead and do it without (my character). The book's excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different - well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago."

In case you don't remember, Grant played Daniel Cleaver in the first two "Bridget Jones" movies, based on the hit book series by Helen Fielding.

Fielding's recent project "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy," became available in bookstores last year and is going to be the basis of a third film.

The actor starred in "Bridget Jones' Diary" and "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" alongside Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth.

It has to be mentioned that a third "Bridget Jones" film starring Zellweger will possibly take place after delays, but has not officially entered development.

It is interesting, however, that Grant dismissed a couple of rumors in 2012 that he will quit the series.
