"Food Network Star" Cristie Schoen Codd And Husband Murdered

Former "Food Network Star" contestant Cristie Schoen Codd was murdered last week while five months pregnant with her first baby. She was 38. 




Cristie's husband Joseph Codd, 45, was murdered as well and authorities claim that they died on Thursday March 12.

Family members reported the married pair missing on Sunday March 15 and the arrest in the case was made on Tuesday.

Their neighbor Robert Jason Owens, 36, of Leicester, N.C, has been "charged with two counts of felony first degree murder, one felony count of breaking or entering, larceny after breaking and entering and free text felony," according to the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.

"Our thoughts go out to Cristie's family and friends during this difficult time," a Food Network rep told Us Weekly.

While the Codds remain reportedly missing from their home, authorities found their car and two dogs at their residence in Leicester.

Codd appeared on season eight of "Food Network Star" on Alton Brown's camp.
