Demi Lovato Attacks Lady Gaga SXSW Puke Stunt For "Glamorizing Eating Disorders"

Demi Lovato wasn't just displeased with Lady Gaga's vomiting stunt at SXSW - she was also let down.  






Just in case you have missed it, Gaga, 27, had a performance artist swallow paint and then throw it back up onto her during her concert in Austin on Thursday night.

Lovato, 21, took to twitter on Friday to call Gaga's actions "sad," sharing: "As if we didn't have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. :-( Bottom line, it's not "cool" or "artsy" at all."

"Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction," Lovato continued.

Demi wrote to Gaga bluntly: "you're SO talented, if not one of the most talented in our industry PERIOD. Dope (the song) is INCREDIBLE…but you don't have to do that."

As Gaga fans fired back that she has been open about her own eating disorder struggles in the past and reportedly discussed it before her performance, Lovato made an impressive comparison.



"So it's cool if I do a speech about self-harm and then proceed to watch someone cut themselves on my stage? No. That doesn't make it OKAY," Lovato replied.

"Putting the word ART in it isn't a free card to do whatever you want without consequences," Lovato pointed out.





As the backlash went on, Lovato, who has been honest about her personal issues with addiction and mental illness, wrote: "Activists don't shut up. If no one raises their voice, how are we supposed to be heard?"
