Christmas cards don't have to be expensive or complicated. With a printable card set, a good printer and a few simple supplies, you can make elegant holiday cards at home in under an hour, and they look just as lovely as store-bought ones.
In this post, I'll show you my new printable Christmas card set, the supplies I recommend, and my best tips for getting a professional result at home.
My Printable Christmas Card Set
I designed six elegant 5x7 Christmas cards, each with its own mood:
- Merry & Bright: a minimalist Christmas tree in deep green and gold
- Peace & Joy: a classic wreath with red holly berries
- Warmest Wishes: a golden snowflake on a navy night sky
- Season's Greetings: hanging ornaments on rich burgundy
- Merry Christmas: a snowy pine forest under a golden moon
- Joy: a shining golden star on soft sage green
You get all six in one high-quality PDF, ready to print on US Letter or A4 paper.

What You Need to Print Christmas Cards at Home
1. Cardstock paper
Regular printer paper is too thin and flimsy for cards. A heavy white cardstock (around 200–300 gsm / 80–110 lb) makes your cards feel sturdy and premium.

2. 5x7 envelopes
A7 envelopes fit 5x7 cards perfectly. Kraft or cream envelopes look especially cozy for Christmas.

3. A paper trimmer
Scissors work, but a paper trimmer gives you perfectly straight edges in seconds. It's one of those tools you'll use all year.

4. A gold or metallic pen
Writing your message in gold ink makes every card feel extra special.

5. Envelope seals or stickers (optional)
A little wax seal sticker or a festive sticker on the back of the envelope is a beautiful finishing touch.

How to Print Your Cards: Step by Step
- Download your PDF right after purchase.
- Load cardstock into your printer. Check your printer's settings for "thick paper" or "cardstock".
- Print at "Actual size" or 100%. Don't choose "Fit to page", or your cards will shrink.
- Let the ink dry for a few minutes.
- Cut along the small corner marks with your paper trimmer.
- Write your message on the back, pop it in an envelope, and send it with love.
My Best Tips for a Professional Result
- Print one test page on regular paper first, so you don't waste cardstock.
- Use your printer's "best quality" setting for richer colors.
- Prefer matte cardstock: it's easier to write on than glossy.
- Print a few extra cards: they're perfect for last-minute gifts and neighbors.
