Lil Wayne: "I Do Not Step On American Flag On Purpose!"

Lil Wayne (birth name: Dwayne Michael Carter, jr.) is replying to the outrage over footage that shows him trampling on the American flag during a video shoot.


In the clip from the set of "God Bless Amerika," the flag is displayed behind Wayne and then released to the ground.

Wayne, 30, continues to rap while walking on top of the fallen Stars and Stripes.

Early on Tuesday, Wayne tweeted about the controversy: "I didn't step on the flag on purpose! It's a scene in a video where the flag drops behind me and after it drop it's just there as I perform," Wayne states.
