Rosie O'Donnell Weight Loss Surgery
Rosie O'Donnell has admitted that she had weight loss surgery.
O'Donnell, 51, underwent the vertical gastric sleeve surgery operation in July 2013, subsequently shedding 40 pounds.
The comedian and television personality went public with the news at Friday's Go Red for Women Luncheon in Detroit.
After suffering a heart attack in 2012, O'Donnell started to change her lifestyle, dieting and working out in accordance with her doctor's instructions.
But when she was still struggling with her weight (and related health issues) after approximately a year, Rosie decided to have the procedure.
"I did it to save my life," O'Donnell was quoted as saying.
