Simon Cowell And Lauren Silverman Welcome Baby Boy

Simon Cowell has become a father!

Cowell, 54, and Lauren Silverman, 37 welcomed a son at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Valentine's Day.

The baby's name is Eric and he entered the world at 5:45 p.m., weighing 6 pounds and 7 ounces.

"Healthy and handsome," Cowell tweeted.


"Lauren in great shape," Cowell wrote, adding: "Thanks for all of your kind messages."

The baby is named after Cowell's late father, who passed away in 1999.

The "X Factor" creator took a last-minute flight from London to New York when Silverman went into labor on Friday morning.
