Rosie O'Donnell Disses Lindsay Lohan As Elizabeth Taylor
Rosie O'Donnell doesn't think Lindsay Lohan should portray Elizabeth Taylor. O'Donnell joined "Today's Professionals" on Tuesday, April 24th and took issue with Lohan's new lifetime role.
"I feel very sorry for her," O'Donnell stated. "I think she needs a lot of help. She needs a lot of time away." Matt Lauer pressed O'Donnell further, asking if she thought it was a good idea to cast her in the movie. "No," O'Donnell claimed. "She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including "SNL." She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work."
Lindsay Lohan's representative Steve Honig has spoken out and issued a statement to PerezHilton.com. "I think Rosie should focus on her own career instead of worrying about everyone else's," he declared.
Star Jones said she believed Lohan to be very talented, but hasn't seen enough of her acting work to tell if she could pull off the legendary role. However, Donny Deutsch told Lohan is "our generation's Elizabeth Taylor!"
O'Donnell fired back. "You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was 16," she stated. Despite Deutsch's assertion that Lohan will be this generation's Elizabeth Taylor, O'Donnell stood by her earlier statements.
"I don't think she's right for the role and I don't think she's capable at this point to portray that character," O'Donnell revealed. However, following Rosie's claims, Lindsay's representative Steve Honig told RadarOnline that the actress is more than ready for the new role.
He was quoted as saying: "I think Rosie should focus on her own career and stop worrying about everyone else's. It's hard to take these comments seriously considering they are coming from someone who just had her own talk show cancelled, but I guess she has to find a way to stay in the news, even if it is at the expense of someone else."
Lindsay's father Michael also came forward to defend his troubled daughter, insisting Rosie is in no position to judge.
He stated: "Is Rosie in any position to judge anyone? Failed marriage, two failed shows, slamming other celebs and high profile people. Please!"
"I was and am the first one to point out my own faults, Lindsay's and even others' when we are wrong, but when we are not, I will fight tooth and nail for what's right!" Michael Lohan continued.
"In this case, Rosie, you are wrong. So why don't you, and all in agreement with you, just sit back, shut up and see if Lindsay proves herself before blabbing your unwarranted opinions." Michael Lohan added.
