Is Andrew Garfield Jewish ?
Just in case you wonder: "Is Andrew Garfield Jewish?", the truth is that Garfield (full name: Andrew Russell Garfield) is Jewish.
To be more specific, according to Wikipedia, Garfield, 29, is the son of an American father and British mother, raised in a middle-class Jewish home in Surrey, England. He attended private school and a theater training program before being named to Variety's "10 Actors to Watch" list in 2007.
His paternal grandfather, Samuel Garfinkel, grew up in London, the son of Polish-born Jews. He tied the knot with Andrew's Jewish grandmother, Doris May Savage, in a UK synagogue in 1933. They moved to the States around 1945 and Samuel changed his last name from "Garfinkel" to "Garfield" sometime after coming to America.
Andrew's father, Richard, was born in the United States in 1950, but it is unclear whether Garfield's mother is Jewish or not.
During an interview before the release of "Spiderman," Garfield was asked by an interviewer where'd all his fretting came from to which he replied: "Being Jewish."
It has to be noted that Garfield hasn't mentioned anything yet about his religious education.
