Emmanuelle Beart Plastic Surgery
French actress Emmanuelle Beart, best known for starring alongside Tom Cruise in the first "Mission: Impossible" film, has reportedly had plastic surgery to improve her image.
Beart, 49, has admitted to having had a lip enhancement, which didn't turn out well. Now she wants to raise awareness about the dangers of plastic surgery.
"I had my mouth done when I was 27. It was a botched job," she revealed to French publication Le Monde.
"Obviously, if I had liked my mouth I wouldn't have had it redone," Beart admitted.
"If a man or woman has something redone it is because he or she can no longer live with that part of their body, it is no longer bearable. Either they get help and find the strength to fight (the need to have plastic surgery) or they proceed with the act," Beart was quoted as saying.
Emmanuelle claimed she was "profoundly affected" by her plastic surgery experience and wouldn't repeat it again.
"(Plastic surgery) is a grave act in which you don't necessarily foresee all the consequences," she stated.
"Just the idea of an injection these days devastates me. So I don't know how I will get through these stages (of aging)," Beart noted.
Despite her needle fear, Beart is sympathetic to her acting peers who undergo plastic procedures in order to appear fresh on screen.
"It is not easy to grow old in this business, when you are a woman above all, in the cinema," she added.
Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer was quoted as saying: "Emmanuelle was a beautiful girl who had procedures that were unnecessary. It is vital for everyone to research a credible and honest surgeon who only suggests surgery on people that are good candidates for the procedure."
