Samantha Harris Plans Double Mastectomy To Treat Breast Cancer
Samantha Harris is planning to undergo a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer later this month.
The former "Dancing with the Stars" co-host announced the news on Wednesday.
Harris, 40, detected a lump in her right breast during a routine self-examination last fall.
A subsequent lumpectomy and needle biopsy led to the diagnosis.
"It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest," Harris revealed to People.
Harris claimed that deciding to have a double mastectomy instead of a second lumpectomy with radiation was a tough one, but that once she made the choice: "I felt so much calmer."
