Joan Rivers In Critical Condition As She Stopped Breathing During Throat Surgery
Joan Rivers has been rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during surgery on Thursday.
According to celebrity website TMZ, Rivers, 81, was at a New York City clinic for a throat operation on her vocal cords when the complications took place.
Rivers, whose real name is Joan Alexandra Molinsky, was then taken to Manhattan's Mount Sinai Hospital, where doctors are believed to be frantically trying to save her life. Also her daughter, Melissa, was said to be en route to New York.
In an update, TMZ reported that the "Fashion Police" co-host is in critical condition.
The comedian has been as energetic as ever recently, making headlines last month for walking out on a CNN interview, an incident that David Letterman parodied by walking out himself when she made an appearance on his show.
