Grace Dunham Breaks Silence On Allegations Her Sister Lena "Sexually Abused" Her

Grace Dunham has opened up about the debate over sister Lena Dunham's confession in the book "Not That Kind Of Girl" that she explored Grace's body when both girls were young.  







  


Dunham's honest description of her curiosity about sex and her sister's anatomy immediately became an issue when media outlets including the National Review and Truth Revolt ran stories in recent days suggesting that "The Girls" creator and star had "sexually abused" Grace when she was little.

On Monday, Grace replied to the outburst with a number of tweets. She wrote: "Heteronormativity deems certain behaviors harmful, and others "normal"; the state and media are always invested in maintaining that. As a queer person: I'm committed to people narrating their own experiences, determining for themselves what has and has not been harmful. 2day, like every other day, is a good day to think about how we police the sexualities of young women, queer, and trans people."

In her new book, Dunham, 28, writes about using tactics with Grace similar to "anything a sexual predator might do," and refers to an incident in which, as a 7-year-old, she examined one-year-old Grace's vagina.

In Dunham's weekend rant against her online critics, she commented that Grace was "laughing" at the way Lena's words had been interpreted as an admission of abuse. Lena, meanwhile, became infuriated at the "upsetting and disgusting" rumor that she "molested" Grace in the past.
