Legendary Director Mike Nichols Dead At 83
Legendary director Mike Nichols died on Wednesday evening. He was 83.
Nichols, who was married to news anchor Diane Sawyer for 26 years, directed "The Graduate", "Working Girl", "Silkwood", "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolff", "Closer", "Charlie Wilson's War", "Annie", "Spamalot", "The Birdcage" and "Angels in America".
The award winning director was recently working with a frequent collaborator Meryl Streep, who said of Nichols: "no explanation of our world could be complete and no account or image of it so rich, if we didn't have you."
Nichols leaves behind Sawyer, as well as three kids, Daisy, Max and Jenny, and four grandchildren.
The cause of death is unknown.
