Christina Aguilera Gushes Over Carol Burnett's Golden Globes Speech
After Burnett, 85, earned a standing ovation at the Golden Globes while receiving the first-time annual achievement in television award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Aguilera, 38, took to social media to express her respect and admiration for the comedian's huge impact.
"Ok so I'm a huuuuuuge Carol burnett fan & her speech & tribute tonight brought me to tears", the five-time Grammy winner tweeted about Burnett, whose career spans seven decades of television.
"Out of all the floors of the Chicago theatre and biggest names in business/classics...I chose Carol to sign under", Christina wrote.
In a number of tweets, Aguilera talked about the importance of laughter and Burnett's special gift of shining so brightly.
