Is Hugh Hefner Jewish ?
Just in case you wonder: "Is Hugh Hefner Jewish?", the truth is that Hefner is not Jewish.
To be more exact, American magazine publisher Hugh Hefner (full name: Hugh Marston Hefner) was born in Chicago, Illinois, the older of two sons (himself and brother Keith) of Grace Caroline Swanson (a decidedly non-Jewish sounding name) and Glenn Lucius Hefner, both teachers. Hefner's mother was of Swedish descent and his father had German and English ancestry. Through his father's line, Hefner has stated that he is a direct descendant of Plymouth governor William Bradford, one of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower. (Time Magazine interview - 2005). The Pilgrims were Protestants. He has described his family as "conservative, Midwestern, (and) Methodist".
Hugh Hefner has publicly stated that he is an atheist.
Conclusion: Hugh Hefner is not Jewish.
