Joy Behar is leaving "The View."
Behar, 70, has been a co-host on the long-running daytime show since 1997.
Behar has decided not to renew her contract when it runs out in August.
A rep for "The View" revealed to celebrity website Gossip Cop: "Joy Behar has been instrumental in the success of "The View" from the very beginning. We wish her all the best in this next chapter, and are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season."
It has to be mentioned that the American comedian is the last remaining original cast member besides creator Barbara Walters, with whom Behar initially alternated as the show's fourth panelist before becoming a full-time co-host during the first season.
Behar's departure was first confirmed by Deadline.
