Jackie Collins Dies At 77
Famous novelist Jackie Collins died on Saturday at her home in Beverly Hills, California. She was 77.
"The World Is Full of Married Men" author and sister of iconic actress Joan Collins had been struggling with breast cancer for the past six and a half years.
"It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful, dynamic and one of a kind mother, Jackie Collins, who died of breast cancer today," the Collins family told People.
"She lived a wonderfully full life and was adored by her family, friends and the millions of readers who she has been entertaining for over 4 decades. She was a true inspiration, a trail blazer for women in fiction and a creative force. She will live on through her characters but we already miss her beyond words," the family added.
Since her cancer diagnosis, Collins stayed very private about her battle but in that time published five books.
"Looking back, I'm not sorry about anything I did," Jackie shared earlier this month in an interview with People.
The Collins family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization in the U.S. and Penny Brohn Cancer Care in the U.K.
