Barbara Hershey Surgery

American actress Barbara Hershey (birth name: Barbara Lynn Herzstein) is rumored to have gotten surgery to turn back the hands of time.

Hershey, 65, is estimated to have had botox injections, lip injections and even a facelift.

Like many other celebrities, it has been reported that Hershey (once known as Barbara Seagull) has received several procedures over the years.

For her role in "Beaches" Hershey had fuller and bigger lips than ever. Comedian Steve Harvey referred to her as "that little big lipped girl".

Erma Brombeck was quoted as saying: "I have no idea what "Beaches" was all about. All I could focus on was Barbara Hershey's lips. She looked like she stopped off at a gas station and someone said: "your lips are down 30 pounds. Better let me hit "em with some air.""

Barbara admitted that she received collagen injections for that role, but it was not a longer term or permanent cosmetic enhancement. Her lips came back to normal soon afterwards.

It has to be noted that Barbara Hershey was in a committed relationship for 12 years with Naveen Andrews, who was twenty-one years younger than her. In pictures, the age difference was not noticeable. For that reason, many media outlets and celebrity watchers suspected that Hershey's ageless image may have been the result of a facelift and fillers. 



Many people insist that Barbara's face appears unnaturally tight and has a creepy plastic appearance.

One doctor from Manhattan, who has not treated Barbara Hershey himself, alleged that she may have undergone a major face-lift in order to look younger after her split from Naveen and for the role of Natalie Portman's mother in "Black Swan".

We should take into account that Hershey is 65 and her face is incredibly smooth and wrinkle-free for a woman her age. If she would be aging naturally, we could notice at least a few wrinkles surrounding her eyes.

Also, some people have observed that her forehead doesn't show any expression and seems a bit "frozen", an indication of botox injections. 

Board certified Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer explained: "Barbara Hersey does look like she has had fillers - the prolonged effect of them may be due to products such a silicone. However, it is hard to tell. If she had silicone or some other permanent filler, it is very difficult if not impossible to remove. Time will tell."

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills, California, was quoted as saying: "Barbara Hershey appears to have had a facelift, along with Botox and facial fillers. The facelift has given her face a slightly tight appearance. She may have had filler injected into her lips as well."

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer revealed: "Barbara Hershey's lips seem disproportionately large and full for her face. Her forehead is remarkably smooth, presumably from Botox Injections."

Conclusion: Barbara Hershey ages gracefully as she seems at least 20 years younger than her actual age, something which is impossible to maintain without surgery. There is always a risk though that something might go wrong, but at least for now Barbara has benefited from cosmetic enhancements.
