Prince Harry Nazi Costume
One of the Top gaffes from the Royal family was when Prince Harry dressed up as a Nazi back in 2005.
To be more specific, just two weeks before Holocaust Memorial Day, Prince Harry thought it was a great idea to show up at a "colonials and natives" costume party held back in December 2004 as a Nazi wearing a swastika armband and a desert uniform similar to those worn by Erwin Rommel's German Afrika Korps.
Under headlines reading "Hitler Youth" and "Harry the Nazi," the image ran on the front page of Britain's best-selling Sun tabloid, which was just two weeks before the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
"I'm very sorry if I have caused any offense. It was a poor choice of costume, and I apologize," Prince Harry said in a statement.
Needless to say that Jewish groups, politicians and royal watchers were really upset and disappointed by Harry's insensitivity.
A spokesman for the Board Of Deputies Of British Jews stated the costume "was clearly in bad taste, especially in the run up to Holocaust Memorial Day" on January 27.
On the other hand, he added: "The board is pleased that he's apologized for the incident."
