Natalie Portman Directorial Debut (DETAILS)
Natalie Portman is set to make her feature film directorial debut.
Portman, 32, will direct the big screen adaptation of Israeli author Amos Oz's autobiography "A Tale of Love and Darkness."
In addition to directing, Portman will write the screenplay and portray the role of Oz's mother in the film.
The Oscar winner plans to cast local Israeli actors for the other characters this fall and start shooting in early 2014.
It has yet to be decided whether the project will be shot in English or Hebrew.
Portman previously wrote and directed the short "Eve", and a segment in 2009's "New York, I Love You".
