Chris Rock To Host "Saturday Night Live"

NBC announced on Tuesday that Chris Rock will officially be hosting "Saturday Night Live" on November 1.  


Prince, 56, will serve as SNL's musical guest.

Rock, 49, was a "Saturday Night Live" cast member from 1990 to 1993 and first came back to host the late-night institution in 1996.

The comedian will be the third former "Saturday Night Live" star to return to the popular show during its 40th season, following recent hosts Sarah Silverman and Bill Hader. The show is off the air this coming weekend. Jim Carrey will be hosting on October 25 with Iggy Azalea serving as a musical guest.

Rock will be promoting his upcoming film "Top Five", which has drawn big acclaim on the festival circuit.
