They thought that their ideas would somehow take off by themselves, or that just coming up with an idea was enough. Let me tell you something - it's not enough. It will never be enough. You have to put the idea into action. If you don't have the motivation and the enthusiasm, your great idea will simply sit on top of your desk or inside your head and go nowhere.

77. Many people are afraid to fail, so they don't try. They may dream, talk, and even plan, but they don't take that critical step of putting their money and their effort on the line. To succeed in business, you must take risks. Even if you fail, that's how you learn. There has never been, and will never be, an Olympic skater who didn't fall on the ice.
78. When luck is on your side it is not the time to be modest or timid. It is the time to go for the biggest success you can possibly achieve.
79. People who think achieving success is a linear A-to-Z process, a straight shot to the top, simply aren't in touch with reality. There are very few bona fide overnight success stories. It just doesn't work that way. Success appears to happen overnight because we all see stories in newspapers and on TV about previously unknown people who have suddenly become famous. But consider a sequoia tree that has been growing for several hundred years. Just because a television crew one day decides to do a story about that tree doesn't mean it didn't exist before.
80. I've seen people that are extremely brilliant and they don't have the staying power. They don’t have that never give up quality. 81. Friendship can be really tested only in bad times.
82. If you're not born in the United States, you cannot be president. And, there is a real question. And if this birth certificate exists, you know what I get a kick out of? The Governor of Hawaii says, "I remember when he was born 50 years ago." I doubt it. I think this guy should be investigated. I doubt it. He remembers when Obama was born? Give me a break! He's just trying to do something for his party. The fact is, if you're not born in the United States, you cannot be president. He is having a hard time - he spent millions of dollars trying to get away from this issue, millions of dollars in legal fees trying to get away from this issue. And I'll tell you what, I brought it up just routinely and all of a sudden, a lot of facts are emerging, and I'm starting to wonder myself whether or not he was born in this country.
83. Today I'm very proud of myself, because I've accomplished something that nobody else has been able to accomplish. I was just informed, while on the helicopter, that our president has finally released a birth certificate. I want to look at it, but I hope it's true, so that we can get on to much more important matters, so the press can stop asking me questions. He should have done it a long time ago. Why he didn't do it when the Clintons asked for it, why he didn't do it when everyone else was asking for it, I don't know. But I am really honored, frankly, to have played such a big role in hopefully, hopefully getting rid of this issue. Now, we have to look at it, we have to see, is it real? Is it proper? What's on it? But I hope it checks out beautifully. I am really proud, I am really honored.

86. I could take the greatest deal-makers of all time and they've always had something that didn't quite work out. You never want to put yourself in the position where something not working out is bigger than what you are and therefore takes you down. It's got to be in smaller chunks. In all cases, I want to learn something from things that didn't quite work out and learn, so that it doesn’t happen again or so that in the future, you make great decisions. You don't want to make the same mistake twice and you have to learn that early on in your life.
87. Passion is absolutely necessary to achieve any kind of long-lasting success. I know this from experience. If you don't have passion, everything you do will ultimately fizzle out or, at best, be mediocre. Is that how you want to live your life?

89. In business - every business - the bottom line is understanding the process. If you don't understand the process, you'll never reap the rewards of the process.
90. Some people aren't meant to be rich. It's like when Babe Ruth was the greatest home run hitter. There had never been anybody like him, and his teammates would ask, "Babe, Babe, how do you hit the long ball?" And he'd sa: "I don't know, man. I just swing at it." I see it like that. It's just something you have, something you're born with. Many people don't have the ability to be rich, because they're too lazy or they don't have the desire or the stick-to-itiveness. It's a talent. Some people have a talent for piano. Some people have a talent for raising a family. Some people have a talent for golf. I just happen to have a talent for making money.

92. I have people that have been studying (Obama's birth certificate) and they cannot believe what they're finding...I would like to have him show his birth certificate, and can I be honest with you, I hope he can. Because if he can't, if he can't, if he wasn't born in this country, which is a real possibility…then he has pulled one of the great cons in the history of politics.
93. Let me tell you, I'm a really smart guy. I was a really good student at the best school in the country. The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him. (on why he thought Obama wasn't born in the United States)
94. It's like in golf. A lot of people - I don't want this to sound trivial - but a lot of people are switching to these really long putters, very unattractive. It’s weird. You see these great players with these really long putters, because they can't sink three-footers anymore. And, I hate it. I am a traditionalist. I have so many fabulous friends who happen to be gay, but I am a traditionalist. (Donald Trump telling the New York Times why he opposes gay marriage)
95. I have a great relationship with the blacks.
96. When it comes time to default, they’re not going to remember any of the Republicans’ names. They are going to remember in history books one name, and that's Obama. (urging Republicans to force a default on America's debt so that Obama wouldn't be reelected)

100. I will build you ... one of the great ballrooms of the world. (on building a $100 million ballroom at the White House)
101. I think the only difference between me and the other candidates is that I'm more honest and my women are more beautiful. (while teasing a presidential run in 2000)
102. In life you have to rely on the past, and that's called history. (on Celebrity Apprentice)

108. The beauty of me is that I'm very rich.
109. The final key to the way I promote is bravado. I play to people's fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That's why a little hyperbole never hurts.
110. A friend called me up the other day and talked about investing in a dot-com that sells lobsters. Internet lobsters. Where will this end? The next day he sent me a huge package of lobsters on ice. How low can you stoop?
111. When somebody challenges you, fight back. Be brutal, be tough, Just go get them.

67. Well, yes, I've fired a lot of people. Generally I like other people to fire, because it's always a lousy task. But I have fired many people.
68. Real estate is at the core of almost every business, and it's certainly at the core of most people's wealth. In order to build your wealth and improve your business smarts, you need to know about real estate.
69. It's tangible, it's solid, it's beautiful. It's artistic, from my standpoint, and I just love real estate.
70. I get up, take a shower and wash my hair. Then I read the newspapers and watch the news on television, and slowly the hair dries. It takes about an hour. I don't use the blow dryer. Once it's dry I comb it. Once I have it the way I like it - even though nobody else likes it - I spray it and it's good for the day.
71. Deals are my art form.
72. I've known people who had fantastic ideas, but who couldn't get the idea off the ground because they approached everything weakly.
73. I do what I do out of pure enjoyment. Hopefully, nobody does it better. There's a beauty to making a great deal. It's my canvas. And I like painting it.
74. It’s important to focus on the solution, not the problem.
75. How to get rich ... whenever I meet people, that's usually what they want to know from me. You ask a banker how he makes bread. You ask a billionaire how he makes money.
76. There has always been a display of wealth and always will be, until the depression comes, which it always does. And let me tell you, a display is a good thing. It shows people that you can be successful. It can show you a way of life.
I've always said that other than bad ideas, which is a reason for failure, the ability to never ever quit or give up is something that is very, very important for success as an entrepreneur.
84. It's very important that people aspire to be successful. The only way you can do it is if you look at somebody who is.
85. Not teaching your kids about money is like not caring whether they eat. If they enter the world without financial knowledge, they will have a much harder go of it.
88. I am no stranger to working hard. I have done it all my life. As a result I have become accustomed to expecting success in everything I do. Some people call me lucky, but I know better.
91. Life is what you do while you're waiting to die.
97. I don't like the crying. (on House Speaker John Boehner)
98. These are stupid people that say: "Oh didn't Trump declare bankruptcy? Didn't he go bankrupt?" I didn't go bankrupt.
99. The man that wrote the second book ... didn't write the first book. The difference was like chicken salad and chicken s**t. (on President Obama's books)
103. I'll tell you, it's Big Business. If there is one word to describe Atlantic City, it's Big Business. Or two words - Big Business.
104. You know, it really doesn't matter what (the media) write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass.
105. She really has become a monster ... I mean monster in the most positive way. (on his pregnant wife Melania)
106. My fingers are long and beautiful, as, it has been well been documented, are various other parts of my body.
107. I'm not a schmuck. Even if the world goes to hell in a handbasket, I won't lose a penny.
112. If you have to lie, cheat, and steal, you're just not doing it right…My career is a model of tough, fair dealing and fantastic success - without shortcuts, without breaking the law.
113. China is going to have its own version of "The Apprentice." There have been 11 (unofficial) copies of "The Apprentice," and every single one of them has failed.
114. Get going. Move forward. Aim High. Plan a takeoff. Don't just sit on the runway and hope someone will come along and push the airplane. It simply won't happen. Change your attitude and gain some altitude. Believe me, you'll love it up here.
115. Show me someone without an ego, and I'll show you a loser.
116. When you are wronged repeatedly, the worst thing you can do is continue taking it - fight back!
117. Don't get sidetracked. If you do get sidetracked, get back on track as soon as possible. Ultimately sidetracking kills you.
118. It's a blip, not a catastrophe.
119. I've read hundreds of books about China over the decades. I know the Chinese. I've made a lot of money with the Chinese. I understand the Chinese mind.
120. What's the point of having great knowledge and keeping them all to yourself?
What do you think of Donald Trump's quotes?
