Katharine McPhee Files For Divorce From Nick Cokas
Katharine McPhee and Nick Cokas are taking a divorce.
McPhee's spokesperson told People: "After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas. The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time."
The official separation comes seven months after McPhee was seen kissing her "Smash" director, Michael Morris.
McPhee, 30, and Cokas, 47, were alleged to be dating, though he was also married - to Mary McCormack.
Morris and McCormack tried to reconcile and the two were spotted out together in recent months, with reports claiming they were giving their affair another shot.
Obviously it was not to be and the outlet reports the cheating did not play a part in the final split, with a source revealing: "It was just time. They'd grown apart and weren't right for each other anymore."
McPhee and Cokas tied the knot in 2008, several years after he encouraged her to try out for "American Idol," where she ultimately finished second in season 5.
