Lorde's Parents Engaged After Nearly 30 Years Together

Lorde has eventually seen her parents got engaged!

On Monday, Lorde, 17, posted that her parents Vic O'Connor, a civil engineer, and her poet mother Sonja Yelich are engaged after nearly thirty years of being a pair.

"BEST DAY - went to niagara falls - my dad proposed to my mum after almost 30 years together," Lorde tweeted.




Acknowledging the lyrics from her smash hit "Royals" - "I've never seen a diamond in the flesh/I cut my teeth on wedding rings in the movies" - a thrilled Lorde shared: "inevitable response yes i know i have seen a diamond now."
