Celebrity Dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt Found Dead In His Home
Dr. Fredric Brandt was found dead on Sunday at his Coral Gables home in Miami, Fla. He was 65.
According to numerous reports, the celebrity dermatologist was struggling with depression after being "devastated" by comparisons to the plastic surgeon character Dr. Grant (pronounced Franff) portrayed by Martin Short in the new Netflix series "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt".
Brandt's patients included Madonna, Kelly Ripa and supermodel Stephanie Seymour. He has admitted to using himself to experiment with injections of fillers.
In a candid interview with The New York Times, the late dermatologist revealed: "I've been kind of a pioneer in pushing the limits to see how things work and what the look would be," adding: "Would I change anything I've done? I might not have used as much Botox, because you don't want to look quite as frozen."
