"When A Man Loves A Woman" Singer Percy Sledge Dead At 73
Percy Sledge has died early on Tuesday morning at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was 73.
The legendary singer was best known for his big hit "When a Man Loves a Woman", which reached number one on the charts.
According to the star's agent, Sledge passed away after struggling with liver cancer.
He had surgery in January 2014 but soon resumed touring.
Percy had also numerous hits over the years such as "It Tears Me Up", "Warm and Tender Love", "Out of Left Field" and "Take Time to Know Her".
Sledge was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and was a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
The R&B and soul performer is survived by his wife and children.
