"A Beautiful Mind" Mathematician John Nash And Wife Dead
John Nash, the mathematician who was the subject of the Oscar-winning drama movie "A Beautiful Mind", has died at the age of 86 following a fatal car accident.
Nash and his wife Alicia, 82, both passed away in the crash, which took place on Saturday in New Jersey.
The Nobel Prize winner and Alicia were riding in a cab when the driver lost control while attempting to pass a vehicle in the center lane. The taxi crashed into a guard rail and the pair was ejected from the car.
"It doesn't appear that they were wearing seatbets," State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams revealed to NJ.com.
Nash received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1994 and he is best known for his work in game theory. He and his wife become mental health care advocates after his battle with paranoid schizophrenia and delusional episodes, which are described famously in the film based on his life.
