Lucy Hale Goes Country Chic For "Flare" Music Issue

Lucy Hale went country chic for Flare magazine's Music Issue.


Hale, 24, whose new album "Road Between" is currently in stores, said of challenging ex-boyfriends just like Taylor Swift, 24, famously does: "I don't really keep in touch with many of my ex-boyfriends. But there are some digs in the album for sure," noting: "Taylor's untouchable. She made country quote-unquote "cool." And she made it OK to talk about your problems. And be vulnerable. And talk shit about your ex-boyfriend. That's so fun! Everyone wants to do that."

Recalling her days on "American Juniors", Hale pointed out: "Now, looking back, I'm like, that's a lot of stress to put on some kids. But it was fun."

As for the risks of putting out an album, Lucy was quoted as saying: "It's very scary being open, being vulnerable, putting yourself out there at the risk of failing. The scariest part is working so, so hard for something and then it not paying off. But that almost doesn't even matter to me anymore," adding: "Making the album was the best experience of my life."
