Chaka Khan Furious On Clive Davis !
Chaka Khan is not pleased with Clive Davis. The legendary singer is furious that Davis kept on with his pre-Grammy party following the news of Whitney Houston's death.
"I thought that was complete insanity," Khan told CNN’s Piers Morgan (via Zap2It). "And knowing Whitney I don’t think that she would’ve said, "The show must go on," she’s the kind of woman who would’ve said, "Stop everything! I’m not going to be there.’"
Khan’s comments directly refute Davis’ explanations. Davis had previously stated that Houston "would have wanted the music to go on" and that her family requested that the party go on.
"I don’t know what could motivate a person to have a party in the building where the person whose life he had influenced so enormously [had died]," Khan spewed. "And whose life has been affected by hers… I don’t understand how that party went on."
Khan further lashed out at everyone who thought it was a good idea for Houston to fly to Los Angeles for an entire week before her scheduled performance.

"I, too, was an addict," Khan revealed. "I know if I was on the set of a movie, even now, and [I've been] recovered for seven years, and I found out that I was coming to a city like L.A, we would’ve made specific plans that I come in [the] night before or day of performance," she fumed. "Especially if you have not gone in and got proper treatment and gotten your situation handled. That was the first big mistake, for her to come in an entire week before her performance at the party, I would have never done that."
Khan continued, "Whoever flew her out to perform at that party should’ve provided someone to be there to somehow keep the riff raff from out of the situation. To keep some of the dangerous people away."
The singer also admitted that she was "paralyzed" at the news of Houston’s death and withdrew from her tribute performance with Jennifer Hudson to grieve privately.
Houston’s private funeral will be this Saturday on February 18th in Newark, N.J.
