Rob Ford Diagnosed With Rare Cancer

It was revealed on Wednesday that Rob Ford has a rare form of cancer.

The Toronto mayor, who suddenly withdrew from a race for reelection last week, has been diagnosed with pleomorphic liposarcoma.

Dr. Zane Cohen of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto claimed that he is "optimistic" about Ford's treatment, but called the malignant tumor in the politician's abdomen "rare," "fairly aggressive" and "difficult."

Ford, whose tenure has been anarchic and dubious, will get chemotherapy in the following days.

Ford's brother Doug will be replacing him in the mayoral race against candidates John Tory and Olivia Chow.
