"Saturday Night Live" Alum Jan Hooks Dead At 57
Emmy-nominated actress Jan Hooks died on Thursday in New York City. She was 57.
According to celebrity website TMZ, the "Saturday Night Live" alum was struggling with a serious unknown illness.
It has to be noted that Hooks was a memorable part of the "SNL" cast from 1986 to 1991 alongside Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey.
She also guest-starred on "30 Rock" as Verna, the funnily trashy, often monstrous mom of Jane Krakowski's Jenna Maroney.
