"School of Rock" Television Show Has Found Its Jack Black Replacement In Comedian Tony Cavalero
Nickelodeon's "School of Rock" TV show has found its Dewey Finn, the character made popular by Jack Black in the 2003 movie of the same title, in actor and comedian Tony Cavalero.
Cavalero, who performs with The Groundlings in Los Angeles, appeared as a guest star on several sitcoms like "Modern Family," "2 Broke Girls" and was a regular on the Glamour web series "The Single Life."
"I am so honored to be part of the rad legacy that is "School of Rock,"" Cavalero said in a statement (via The Wrap), noting: "Jack Black is one of my biggest comedy influences and I am ready to shred!"
No premiere date has been announced yet. The series, which will be directed by Richard Linklater and produced by Scott Rudin, will have 13 episodes.
