Betty White, who has been the victim of death hoaxes in the past, is not dead.  



White, 92, fell victim to a death hoax on Wednesday evening, September 3.


Her agent Jeff Witjas confirmed to The Los Angeles Times that the "Golden Girls" star is alive and well.

In fact, she is on the set filming "Hot in Cleveland" right now," Witjas revealed to the paper.

The news of Betty White's death began when a satirical news website "Empire News" wrote: "Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home". Readers confused "dyes" with "dies".







Empire News jokingly shared: "In a press release from her long-time manager Jeff Witjas, it has been confirmed today that actress Betty White, best known for her roles on TVs The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls, and Hot in Cleveland, is not a natural blonde."

Also a fake news report from eBuzzd.com led many readers to tweet "RIP Betty White" or make comments about it.

"The world is saddened today as we slowly learn more about the death of Hollywood legend Betty White. Authorities were called to the exclusive celebrity resort La Palomas at around 2 p.m. Monday after Whites' body was found by resort staff, a law enforcement source told the eBuzzd. The source added that investigators do not suspect drugs or other foul-play to be a cause of her death at this time, but that testing and an autopsy is needed to determine a definitive cause of death," it reads.
