Well, Jessica has revealed to Self that she doesn't like to follow any diet. "Diets are for the birds. I think you have to eat in a way that makes you feel your best. I include a lot of vegetables and lean protein and fruit and grains in my diet," Alba was quoted as saying.
According to reports, Jessica Alba has battled anorexia in 2001, which means that she hasn't always been healthy...Alba has actually worked really hard to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Alba follows now the South Beach Diet, which includes rich with lean meats, low-fat cheeses, whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
In detail, the South Beach Diet allows foods, such as:
1. Beef: Lean cuts, such as sirloin (including ground), tenderloin, top round
2. Poultry: Cornish hen, turkey bacon (two slices per day), turkey and chicken breast
3. Seafood: All types of fish and shellfish (shrimp, clams, oysters)
4. Pork: Broiled ham, Canadian Bacon, Tenderloin
5. Cold Cuts: Fat-free or low-fat only
6. Cheese (fat-free or low fat): American, cheddar, cottage cheese (1-2% or fat-free), cream cheese substitute (dairy free), feta, mozzarella, Parmesan, provolone, ricotta, string
7. Nuts: Almonds (15), peanut butter (2 tbsp), peanuts (20 small), pecan halves (15), pistachios (30)
8. Eggs: The use of eggs is not restricted unless otherwise noted by your physician. Use egg whites and egg substitute as desired
9. Tofu: Use soft, low-fat or lite varieties
10. Vegetables: Artichokes, asparagus, beans (black, butter, chickpeas, green, Italian, kidney, lentils, lima, pigeon, soy, split peas, wax), broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, collard greens, cucumbers, pickles (dill, or those sweetened with Splenda), eggplant, lettuce (all varieties), mushrooms (all varieties), snow peas, spinach, sprouts (alfalfa), turnips, water chestnuts, zucchini, radishes
11. Fats: Canola oil, olive oil
12. Dairy: Two cups of nonfat milk or nonfat or lowfat plain yogurt are to be consumed daily
13. Spices and seasonings: All spices that contain no added sugar, broth, extracts (almond, vanilla, or others), horseradish sauce, I can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! spray, pepper (black, cayenne, red, white)
14. Sweet treats (limit to 75 calories per day): Candies (hard, sugar-free), chocolate powder (no-sugar-added), cocoa powder (baking type), sugar-free fudgsicles, sugar-free gelatin, sugar-free gum, sugar-free popsicles, sugar substitute.
The South Beach Diet bans foods, such as:
1. Beef: Brisket, Liver, other fatty cuts
2. Poultry: Chicken wings and legs, duck, goose, poultry products (processed)
3. Pork: honey-baked ham
4. Veal: breast
5. Cheese: Brie, edam, non-reduced fat
6. Vegetables: beets, carrots, corn, potatoes (white), potatoes (sweet)
7. Fruit: Avoid all fruits and fruit juices, such as: apples, apricots, berries, cantaloupe, grapefruit, peaches, pears
8. Starches and Carbohydrates: avoid all starchy foods, such as: bread (all types), cereal, matzo, oatmeal, rice (all types), pasta (all types), pastry and baked goods (all types)
9. Alcohol of any kind, including beer and wine
10. No regular ketchup or cocktail sauce
11. No pork rinds - too high in saturated fat
12. No jerky - too high in sugar content
13. Limit Caffeine-Containing Beverages to 1-2 servings per day

For example, Jessica has revealed that in order to get ready for a photo shoot soon after having her first child, she exercised so hard she even cried! Alba admits she is no fitness fanatic. "I'm not a big workout person," Alba told Self. "Every single day, I tell my girlfriends we're starting a regimen. And then it's, like: "Want to get dinner? Want a glass of wine?"
