Amy Winehouse Statue Unveiled On 31st Birthday (PHOTOS)

A life-size Amy Winehouse statue was unveiled in north London on Sunday, on what would have been the late singer's 31st birthday.

Created by sculptor Scott Eaton, the bronze sculpture on display in the Camden Town neighborhood of north London, bares a striking resemblance to Winehouse complete with her with her hand on hip and her signature beehive hairdo.

Winehouse's parents attended the unveiling, an event her dad Mitch described as "incredibly emotional," noting that its creator had "done an amazing job in capturing her."

"It is like stopping her in a beautiful moment in time," he was quoted as saying, adding: "We really hope Amy's fans love the statue."

The Amy Winehouse figure will be a permanent memorial in Camden's Stable Market.

Winehouse died at her residence in 2011 at the age of 27. She had initially struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. The cause of her death was accidental alcohol poisoning.
